Nestled within our peaceful grounds, a woodland burial offers a natural resting place in a tranquil and unspoiled setting.

While simple in approach, our woodland burial package can still be personal and meaningful.

You may choose to include readings or quiet moments of reflection in the meadow, or hold a celebration of life in our chapel—creating a farewell that feels right for you and your family.

As all of our facilities are located on one site, your loved one remains in our care throughout, from the moment we collect until the time of burial.

During this time, families are welcome to visit our 38-acre grounds, making use of the natural surroundings for quiet moments of reflection and peace.

How it works?

BRINGING YOUR LOVED ONE INTO OUR CARE

Following first contact, we bring your loved one into our care and transfer them to our private mortuary at Bockenfield Wood.

Our experienced team will guide you through all necessary documentation and arrangements.

You will also have the option to visit your loved one in our woodland chapel of rest.

1 ARRANGING THE BURIAL

All of our burial plots are located in Clarefield Meadow, at Northumberland Woodland Burials. Established over 25 years ago, this natural setting is home to native woodlands and wildlife.

YOU WILL BE ABLE TO CHOOSE

~ A coffin from our natural, fully biodegradable range

~ Floral tributes, including natural arrangements or living

tributes such as bulb planting or wildflower seeds

~ Dedicated slate memorial plaque to mark the burial plot

2 THE DAY OF THE FUNERAL

The coffin will be in place within the chapel prior to the service.

A service of approximately 45 minutes can be held, followed by the interment within Clarefield Meadow.
